Blue Valley's Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) gives students the opportunity to experience a profession-based learning environment with specialized instruction and courses. Students learn the professional skills necessary to succeed in today's fast-paced world, all before entering college.
CAPS is a unique student learning opportunity that brings together four distinct strands of educational interest, each of which contains a number of different pathways, or programs, for students to pursue.

The implementation of CAPS has been split into three phases:
- 2008-09 school year: Introductory program courses will be offered at all four district high schools.
- 2009-10 school year: Junior and senior level classes will be offered at a satellite location.
- 2010-11 school year: Additional courses will be available when the CAPS programs move into a cutting-edge facility that will become the district's student resource for profession-based learning in the 21st century. This innovative center will provide students with the opportunity to immerse themselves into the career interest of their choice.
