Throughout the district, up-to-date buildings
equipped with modern technology are the rule. Each school
is air-conditioned and accessible to people with disabilities.
All but four of the school buildings have been constructed
since 1980.
Inside the attractive buildings are comfortable classroom
spaces, special-purpose rooms, activity areas, gymnasiums
and exceptional library media centers. Several school buildings
were recognized nationally for design that produces an environment
conducive to learning and that also encourages community
use.
The district is focused on providing a safe
learning environment for all students. The Board of Education
has a zero tolerance
policy towards drugs, alcohol and weapons. School Resource
Officers (uniformed local police) and Blue Valley Campus
Police Department officers work full time in each high school
to build rapport, share information about the law and provide
assistance to students and staff.
The district's food service managers prepare wholesome,
appealing meals on-site in accordance with federal and state
nutrition guidelines and also follow the U. S. dietary guidelines
for Americans.
Students attend classes from late August to the end of
May. District Office is open year-round. Summer hours are
7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
