The Blue Valley North high school jazz festival and pancake dinner begins at 5:00 Feb. 12 with BVN, then Leawood MS, BVN, then Overland Trail Middle school and closed out by BVN jazz bands. Pancakes are from Chris Cakes. Proceeds go to help with instruments, uniforms and music. THEN the all-school musical "Curtains" begins at 7:00.

The BLUE VALLEY NORTH HIGH SCHOOL BANDS will perform their February concert  "A Deeper Love" by the Symphonic, Concert and Ninth grade bands. The Symphonic band will premier two works; "Ascend" by former North student Jason Charney. The work was commissioned by the North Band in memory of Mark Boresow who died early last term. Mark was the father of Elizabeth, Emily, Matt and Jacob Boresow . The music presents ideas and motives representing this fine man and his family. The other premier is a work by current senior Avi Sonnenschein titled "Midnight Stranger." It is a very rhythmic and exciting work featuring all sections of the band.  The Concert Band will perform among other works ''Lincoln at Gettysburg" featuring senior Shawn Sutton . All three concert bands will perform marches, overtures and other works in honor of those who have demonstrated to us ''A Deeper Love."
