I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer break. It is hard to CAMPBELL 'S: Keep clipping the 'Labels for Education' UPCs. The money we earn from the Campbell's program has been a huge benefit for our P.E. and Art programs at Lakewood. The UPCs are basically exchanged for items these departments use with our students. Some examples are Crayola markers and crayons, jump ropes, basketballs and numerous other items. " Campbell's Label for Education is a great opportunity for the students to have supplies that normally do not fit into my yearly budget. As budget cuts continue to hit our classrooms, I count on Campbell's to help stretch the experiences the students can have in the art classroom. Items that have been order in previous years include Model Magic and Color Explosion Paper. I cannot express how much I appreciate our Lakewood community taking the time to collect Box Tops. It truly provides our students with the extra supplies they love!"-Ms. Wayland, Art Teacher
As you can see these UPC labels are benefiting your students so keep clipping them and sending them in.
BOX TOPS: Keep collecting those Box Top UPCs over the summer and get a big jump on the other classes in our first Box Tops Challenge. Keep yours eyes open for the numerous double Box Tops on some products. I have seen a few more popping up at the stores lately. You can also go to www.boxtops4education.com to register for a chance to win up to 500,000 Bonus Box Tops for Lakewood. PAPER RECYCLING: This past year we started the 'Paper-4-Paper' program. The money Lakewood has earned for collecting and recycling paper has been used to purchase paper for the school. This program has been a huge benefit in helping to cover what budget cuts have affected in the last year. Please continue to drop off any paper (catalogs, junk mail, newspapers, etc….) in the large bins in the front parking lot of the elementary school. NO CARDBOARD PLEASE!!!!! TYSON: Clip the entire 1-2-3 label from frozen Tyson products. Each label will earn Lakewood 24 cents - that's like tossing a quarter into the trash when you don't submit the label. Drop all Tyson labels off into the designated bin under the Box Tops bulletin board. PRINTER CARTRIDGE RECYCLING: REMINDER --we will no longer be accepting laser cartridges . The recycling market has been saturated so many of these large cartridges are no longer accepted or only earn the school as little as 10 cents. Please continue to recycle then at the recycling center located at 119th & Hardy (behind the fire station). Thanks for continuing to collect trash to help our environment AND earn FREE MONEY for Lakewood!!
