A Message to Our Community

In Blue Valley, we have great programs in place designed to help kids succeed, staff who are committed to doing what it takes to teach each and every child, and a community that is supportive of our mission and our goals. We also have more than 20,000 students who are dedicated to working hard and learning new things. In Blue Valley, it is an honor to be able to say that everyone is devoted to Education Beyond Expectations.

As we embark on the 2009-10 school year, we are confident this will be a wonderful year filled with high quality educational experiences, student and staff success and of course an enjoyable learning and teaching environment for everyone in Blue Valley.

During this school year, the district administration and Board of Education will be revisiting the strategic plan to make sure its goals and targets continue to push us toward outstanding outcomes for students. Our strategic plan goals in Blue Valley are to help every child achieve unprecedented academic success and unparalleled personal growth. It takes every one of our staff members in Blue Valley to make our strategic plan efforts come to fruition. It's this working together by all of our staff that allows us to provide an Education Beyond Expectations for our students.

Our efforts are truly making an impact. For six years in a row, the district and all of its schools have made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act. Our 2008 graduates posted the highest ACT and SAT composite scores in district history. All four Blue Valley high schools were named to a list of America's top 1,500 public high schools compiled by Newsweek. In 2009, we had 17 students named National Merit Finalists and four students were Presidential Scholar candidates, with one Blue Valley Northwest 2009 graduate named a semifinalist. The list of our student successes goes on and on.

We couldn't be more proud of our students and staff for their efforts. We believe strongly in personalized student learning and it takes the support of the Board of Education, staff and community to make this happen for each of our students.

Thank you for your support of Blue Valley. Please help us in making the 2009-10 school year the best yet.
