The
district's outer boundaries have been established by the
state legislature. Inside the 91-square mile district, each
school has its own attendance area.
These
areas are reviewed by the Facility
Planning Committee, a Board of Education
advisory committee, and may change, based on information
from that committee. Blue Valley schools are open to students
who have a legal residence in the district. If a family moves
out of the district during the school year, their children
may complete that semester's work at their current schools.
If a family has purchased, rented or is building a new home
in the district, the children may enroll in district schools,
if there is documentation that the move will be completed
before the end of that semester.
New
students enroll at the schools in their attendance area.
The school staff will guide parents and students through
the process, providing information on health and immunization
requirements, transportation options and placement for
special needs students. Currently, no transfer students
are accepted from other districts.
