About Blue Valley's Transportation Services
2106/2106_391338281_208.jpg

Blue Valley School District #229 currently provides free bus transportation to those students who live 2.5 or more miles from their assigned school. The mileage is figured by measuring the most direct route from the student's house to the school. Students who qualify for the federal free and reduced lunch program may be eligible to receive busing at no cost or a reduced cost. Free bus transportation may also be available to children who qualify that are enrolled in some special education programs.

Bus transportation is available for parents who want to purchase service for children who live less than 2.5 miles from their assigned school. Information about mileage and attendance areas may be obtained from the school. You may also contact the Blue Valley School District at (913) 239-4676/Margaret Gipson.

Durham School Services will provide bus transportation for district students. Questions or concerns about bus routes or transportation fees should be directed to Durham School Services at (913) 681-2492.

Door-to-door service will not be provided. Students are asked to walk to designated bus stops to board the bus. While Durham School Services through the district, does attempt to provide time schedules for bus stops, these schedules are a guide only, and students should be prepared for the bus to arrive from 5 minutes earlier to 5 minutes later than the schedule. Bus stop times are subject to change. In case of severe weather, the district cannot guarantee that buses will run on schedule. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding when weather-related delays occur.
