Seniors will receive detailed information regarding the college application process, college admission representatives, area collegiate fairs and events, transcripts, testing (ACT - SAT - AP), College Now, dual credit, semester graduation, military academies, scholarships, and financial aid information during the third, fourth, and fifth weeks of school. Counselors will present information regarding these topics in the senior English classes. Please refer to the Junior Planning Booklet you received last year. Utilize this Web site for specific information regarding many topics.
Seniors should continue to visit collegiate Web sites and look at the following information: admissions requirements, credit awarded for advanced placement scores and or credit from the College Now program, and criteria for scholarships. Many colleges will have November 1, deadline dates for scholarships.
If you wish to participate in sports and athletics at the collegiate level you will need to register with the NCAA Clearing Site. That specific information is listed on this Web site.

The Web site for the University of Kansas Medical Center has excellent resources for students who are interested in medical careers. Do take time to check out this virtual classroom on the web.
- The calendar section of this Web site lists all of the college admissions representatives that visit our high school. Check out the opportunities for junior visit days on college campuses.
- Like Physics! Walter Lewin, 71, a physics professor at MIT has fantastic lectures which are on videotape. They are on the Open Courseware of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. You simply must see this. Course videos are available in mathematics and other content areas as well. The entire curriculum can be viewed and downloaded. High school courses in AP Biology, Physics and Calculus are available for you to view.
- Yale University has open courses for students in the areas of Astronomy, English, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology and Religious Studies. You can view lecture presentations.
- This is a helpful Web site on how to select your high school courses and create a solid academic high school portfolio.
- U.S. News Presents: 2010 College and University Rankings
- Parent Presentation - Many parent presentations will be available throughout the year for students and parents covering high school planning and preparing for post secondary education. Topics will include the high school transcript, testing (PLAN, ACT, SAT, AP), course selection and basic college information. Dates for 2010-2011 will be announced in September.
