Three simple letters drive the strategic plan of the Blue Valley School District. Those letters are PLC, or Professional Learning Communities. PLCs are teams of education experts working toward a common focus, to reach the mission and vision of the school through collaboration with a focus on results. PLCs provide the structure for all curriculum work completed in the Blue Valley School District. Ongoing collaboration takes place among grade level teachers, department teams, school to school teams and district teams. All work focuses on the following four questions:

The Blue Valley curriculum is written with the Blue Valley School District Strategic Plan in mind. The following curriculum web pages are designed to help parents and teachers identify what content will be taught in each subject area at specific grade levels or courses. However, this site presents only the framework of what needs to be taught. We, as a district, understand that curriculum is not just the words in a document but the actions that occur in the classroom. |
