Welcome to the Computer Lab!

Sunrise Point Elementary is committed to foster a safe, disciplined, educational environment to provide an atmosphere for students to develop skills to become motivated, self-reliant and productive citizens, both online and offline. We realize the importance of being good stewards of technology through education. It is a priority that all students receive digital citizenship by using the Common Sense Digital Citizenship curriculum. Everyone in the school will be good digital citizens by being safe, responsible and respectful with their use of technology.

The elementary computer program is aligned with the National Educational Technology Standards and will provide child-centered learning activities designed to assist students in becoming effective users of technology. Students in kindergarten through second grade participate in the computer program 30 minutes per week. Students in third to fifth grade participate in the computer program for one hour per week.

The elementary computer program is divided into four instructional categories: keyboarding, basic skills, online skills, and software application. Each category of skills follows a scope and sequence , documenting the growth of the students' abilities as they progress through the elementary grades.
