The Blue Valley School District is proud to be working on the development of the district's fifth high school. The purpose of this Web page is to help provide patrons with information on its progress.

• Approved in the 2005 bond issue
• Estimated capacity: 1,600 students
  • Similar in capacity to Blue Valley West, Blue Valley North and Blue Valley Northwest.
• 113 acres
• 300,000 square feet
  • This building is slightly smaller than Blue Valley West, but slightly larger than Blue Valley North and Blue Valley Northwest.
• Middle School #10 will be located on the same site and will open in 2011

Key dates:

• February 2008: Site construction begins
• February 11, 2008: Board of Education establishes preliminary boundaries
  • Information about the boundaries can be found on the Facility Planning Committee Web site.
• Spring 2008: Building contruction begins
• Fall 2008: Board of Education will finalize boundaries and determine status of a possible option for seniors attending Blue Valley Southwest to remain at their current school. The final decision will rest with the Board of Education.
• January 2009: Principal identified
• Spring 2009: Mascot and colors will be determined by a group of parents, students and staff
• August 2010: School opens

  • 1 lighted field for each sport at the time the high school is built

• A future sports complex is being planned but is not scheduled for construction at this time.  No additional field lighting will be built with the future sports complex.  The future sports complex will include a pressbox, spectator seating, restrooms, concessions, and may include additional parking. This arrangement is similar to Blue Valley West.
