Dr. Lisa Stolper

My name is Lisa Stolper and I am thrilled to be the 3rd principal of Lakewood Middle School. I grew up in Denver, CO and graduated from Tulane University. I went on to earn my master’s and doctoral degrees in Educational Leadership from Baker University.

I began my teaching career in Denver as a Special Education Teacher.  After meeting my husband, I moved to Overland Park and began my career in Blue Valley.  I spent several years teaching Spanish at both the middle and high school levels.  I have been in administration for the last seven years spending time as an Assistant Principal at Pleasant Ridge Middle School, Overland Trail Middle School, and Blue Valley North High School.  When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jeff, and our two boys, Bo and Nash.  We love to explore Kansas City, try new restaurants, and spend time outside.

Although I have worked at all levels, I have a love for middle school.  The three years that students spend in middle school are filled with growth, exploration, and transformation.  Our students come to us as timid elementary students and leave ready to take on the world of high school.  The middle school years are a formative period for students and I am honored to have the opportunity to watch our Lakewood students grow and develop into talented and empathetic young people.

Lakewood Middle School is a special place where students are at the absolute heart of what we do every day.  It would be difficult to find another staff that is as dedicated, caring, or skilled as the LKMS staff.  Our teachers care about each student’s academic success and overall well-being and go above and beyond to meet their needs.  Lakewood is an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students.  We strive to partner with families to ensure that our students have a positive experience during their time with us.  It is my commitment to help each student who walks through our doors be successful and happy during their time here.  I want Lakewood to be a home where all students feel safe and a sense of belonging.

I look forward to being a part of the Lakewood community and getting to know all of the students and families over the years to come.
