ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL
Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Amy Pressly
Dr. Amy Pressly, principal, has wanted to be an educator since she was little. Having grown up with a mother and step-father who were both educators, Amy has always know her calling was to help educate young people. After attending Grove City College (Grove City, PA) and earning a B.S. in Mathematics and Secondary Education, she began her teaching career in Onslow County, North Carolina. She taught for the Department of Defense and Onslow County Schools for eight years before joining the Blue Valley School District. During her time in North Carolina, she earned her Master's Degree from East Carolina University in Curriculum and Instruction and her certification for K-12 Building Administration. While in Blue Valley, she has been a teacher at Harmony Middle School, assistant principal at Pleasant Ridge Middle School, associate principal at Blue Valley North and principal at Blue Valley Northwest. During that time, she earned her Doctorate of Education in School Administration from Saint Louis University. When she is not at school, she loves being a mom and a grandmother (Tutu as her grandchildren call her) or spending time with her two mini goldendoodles Twizzler and Meli. Her free time is spent relaxing at their lake house, reading, quilting, and crafting. Pinterest is her favorite website!
She loves that she gets to work with such amazing students each day. She believes that high school educators have the unique opportunity to help these young adults deepen their understanding of themselves, their goals and dreams as well as their relationship and importance to the world beyond the walls of the high school.
