The first grade at Leawood Elementary consists of three sections. Each class is self-contained. The first grade teachers work together as a team to provide a nurturing, positive learning environment for children. Every child is unique and the first grade team modifies, compacts, and enriches the curriculum to meet the different needs of each learner. The students are encouraged to be actively involved in the learning process and assessment process.

We believe our program is a tool that opens the doors in students' minds and awakens excitement for life-long learning.

Lunch time is 11:10 - 11:35.
