Aside from these assessed skills, the first graders will also learn and work on the following skills.

Days of the week: lunes, martes, miercoles, jueves, viernes, sabado, domingo

Weather: hace sol, hace frio, esta nublado, esta nevando

Classroom phrases: where is/are the...., shut the door, turn on/off the lights, sit down, stand up, raise your hand, silence

Culture: where is Mexico?, Mexican Independence day, las posadas, la nochebuena, the aztecs

Body Parts: los brazos, las piernas, la cara, el estomago, los dientes, etc.
