Khan academy is a new wave of leveled instruction.  Through the academy students can learn new things or focus on their weaknesses while they are in school, at home, or on the go with a tablet.  The innovative idea was thought up by Sal Khan, who holds three degrees from MIT and an MBA from Harvard.  There are districts in the United States that have adopted this as their entire math curriculum.  I plan to start using it in a few different ways, just to test the waters.  Right now, the only drawback is that each student needs a Google email address or a Facebook login.  If you do decide to sign your student up, make sure to let me know so I can add them to my class list.  If a student is in my list, I can "coach" them with selecting online instruction and rewards.  Hopefully, this will be changing in the near future.  Feel free to poke around and see what it's all about--there are definitely some things that I could be learning here too!
