All You Need to Know About Mrs. Boyle
My name is Lizzy Boyle, formerly Miss Horsley, and I have had the pleasure of being the art teacher at Sunrise Point Elementary school for the last eleven years. I graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in art education. When I am not teaching and creating art, I enjoy traveling, attending concerts, and exercising. I am married to my best buddy Christian Boyle :) He's a web designer/programer, and I am very lucky to have him in my life. We live in downtown Kansas City. Even though it's a long drive out to Sunrise Point, we love living in the Crossroads area.
My goal as a teacher is to help your child develop their drawing, painting, and sculpting skills while improving their knowledge of the elements of art and principles of design. There are so many reasons why art education is wonderful, but here are some of my favorites. Art allows students to study artists, other cultures, and apply knowledge they have already learned in their home room classes in each and every project. Art allows students to express themselves, build confidence, and develop creative problem solving skills. It allows children to realize that in life there is not always a correct answer, but many different solutions to a problem. So as you can see, I think ART is the best, and I look forwarding to helping your child develop their own love for art too!
