Unity Icosahedrons

In art class the 5^th graders have been studying the principal of design unity. Unity is wholeness, or oneness. When works of art have unity, all of the elements are arranged to look like they belong together. The 5^th graders created unity through out their icosahedrons paper sculptures by repeating color, shapes, and lines.

FALL CONTOUR LINE DRAWING

The fifth grade students are learning about drawing from observation. After carefully studying a fall still life, the students completed their own contour line drawing. They then outlined it with glue and shaded the drawing using pastels. We also discussed value, shadows and highlights.
