MIRIAM SCHAPIRO FIGURES IN ACTION

  In art, the fourth graders have been studying Miriam Schapiro and her works of art. They discussed how in her sculptures, paintings, and ''femmages'' she does an excellent job of capturing figures in motion. The also learned how artist use gesture drawings to depict action. After doing their own gesture drawings, the students collaged their figure in action onto their non objective watercolor background.
