• The Towers of the Plaza

The fourth graders in art painted the Country Club Plaza towers after viewing many photos of the towers. They learned that many of the Plaza towers are influenced by the architecture in Seville, Spain. Seville is Kansas City's sister city. The students drew their towers in black permanent markers and painted the towers in watercolors adding lights in tempera paint. They also created the illusion of depth by showing that objects that are further away from the viewer are smaller, higher on the picture plain, and have less detail.
