Van Gogh Sunflowers

  In art, the Kindergarten classes have been studying Vincent Van Gogh. During his life Vincent Van Gogh sold only one painting, but now his paintings are priced in the millions. The Kindergarten students created their own version of Van Gogh's sunflowers by drawing the bowl, table, and the centers and stems of the sunflowers. They painted their composition using tempera paint. We double loaded our paint brushes with both orange and yellow paint to get the two toned petals. We also chose to paint a still life of sunflowers because it is Kansas's state flower.
