How to Mark Your Music
Draw an apostrophe or a comma to indicate a breath between two notes
Draw a slur from note to note, or across a set of notes to indicate you want to sing from note to note without a break.
Sing the note(s) short and detached from one another.
Draw a fermata (sometimes called a "bird's eye") over the note. Hold it until the conductor indicates a breath.
