    Happy Monday!

I apologize for the late announcements. I was out of town over the weekend.

I'm so proud of these kids!! Last week they were respectful and helpful for our substitute teachers even though it was Friday the 13th and a full moon! This week we are going to continue to work hard and be kind to others.

Here are some notes for the upcoming days.

    1. Let Me Run starts today, however, you have until Friday to sign your student up.
    2. Blue Field Trip t-shirts for 4th grade went home this week.  Everyone received 1 shirt from OTE/PTO.  When we go on a field trip, we would like students to wear the t-shirts.  It makes it easier to see kids quickly to make sure everyone is still with the group.  Thank you to PTO!
    3. In Blue Take Home folders on Friday is a field trip permission slip for our 1st field trip to Ernie Miller Nature Center on October 16.  Please sign and return to school as soon as you can, but for sure by September 27.  We will be attending the Heritage History Lab which is a living history program. This field trip ties into Kansas Standards KS HGSS Kansas and Regions of the United States. I'll send more information later.
    4. Don’t forget to sign- up for conferences. I would like to meet with at least one member of each student’s family. Link above
    5. If your student has activities outside of school that I can come support them in please let me know! I would love to have the opportunity to cheer them on! Feel free to send me the information over an email or on Seesaw.

    Happy Sunday!

We ended last week with an assembly to celebrate of our first month of school. Despite the hectic beginning of this 19-20 school year, I can tell that this is a special group of students. I am excited to see where this school year will go and to continue getting to know your students.

    This week:

    • Don’t forget to use the Canvas pairing code I believe the code expires on Tuesday.
    • Students will be given their Lexile level based on their MAP scores. We will be discussing their scores at conferences at the end of this month. Look for more information on Lexile Levels coming home in the future.
    • Picture Day is Tuesday. Information about how to buy pictures was sent home in Friday Folders 2 weeks ago.
    • OTE Carnival is this Friday.
    • Impact Club (leadership club) applications due 9/13.
    • Students will be having their first sub this week. I will be talking with your student about respect. I would appreciate your help in reinforcing this message at home as well.
    • I will be out of town this weekend. If you need to contact me, please do so through Seesaw or Email.

    August 23, 2019

Wow- our first full week of school! They are a great class and I am enjoying getting to know them. I appreciate the opportunity to work with them and you this year.

Below are some important announcements for the upcoming week.

If your child wants to play orchestra, the forms are due tomorrow Monday, August 23, 2019. I made a copy for students who wanted one and put in mailboxes- this is an optional opportunity and if you have turned in a form already you do not need to do again- just wanted to insure all got a chance.

MAP TESTING begins on Monday and Tuesday for Fourth grade at 9. Please have students to school on time and feed them a breakfast to allow them to be as successful as possible.

Please remember to send your child with their two pictures one of their smiling face and another that they could write a story about.

Back to School Night for Parents (ONLY) is on Wednesday, August 28 from 6 til 8. There will be two class sessions in order to see different grades if you have more than one kiddo. I look forward to seeing everyone to discuss Fourth grade expectations and how the year will work!

Join our class on Seesaw (see attachment) for future announcements, our daily assignment notebook, and pictures from our school day.
