Blue Valley Virtual Option 2021-22

  • During enrollment and registration this spring, Blue Valley offered a virtual option for families and students who feel this instructional setting best fits their unique learning needs. The number of families requesting a full virtual experience has resulted in significantly low enrollment for virtual education. Due to low interest and the fact the Kansas State Department of Education does not allow for remote learning next school year, virtual education options will only be available for specific courses at the high school level to address specific course requests for high school students. This means virtual education will not be an option at the elementary and middle school levels for the 2021-22 school year. In addition, the planned summer reopening of enrollment/registration will not take place current enrollment trends to in-person instruction.

We understand that families who anticipated a virtual education option for next school year will have questions. Over the next two weeks, families who requested a full virtual experience for next school year will be contacted by a school counselor or administrator. These professionals will assist families with alternative resources and options if they choose to explore a full virtual experience next school year.

Blue Valley remains steadfast in its efforts to educate students and support the academic and social-emotional needs of every learner. If you have any questions related to virtual education, please reach out to your building administrator.
