• Required Physical Education Classes

    • General Physical Education:  Directed toward developing and improving lifetime physical fitness both through knowledge and physical participation.  Knowledge and participation in lifetime sports and activites, both individual and team, are emphasized.  Recommended to be taken during the freshmen year. 
      • Prerequisite:   None
      • Fee:  Required P.E. uniform (may be purchased through the School Store) and fee for bowling
    • Weight Training and Conditioning I:  Designed to enhance the student's academic and practical application of physical conditioning (strength, endurance, quickness, flexibility) and develop a knowledge base toward the design of a physical fitness program. A "girls only" weights class is available during one period of the day.  However, girls may sign up for a mixed weights class. 
      • Prerequisite:  General Physical Education

    • Weight Training and Conditioning II:  Designed to increase the student's present condition (strength, endurance, quickness, flexibility) through weight lifting, plyometric exercises, core work, aerobic conditioning, drills and stretching exercises.  This course may be repeated for credit. A "girls only" weights class is available during one period of the day.  However, girls may sign up for a mixed weights class. 
      • Prerequisite:   General Physical Education and Weight Training and Conditioning I
  • Elective Physical Education Classes

    • Individual Sports:  Includes tennis, badminton, pickleball, table tennis, bowling, and other lifetime activities.  This course may be repeated for credit.
      • Prerequisite:   General Physical Education
      • Fee:  For Bowling

    • Team Sports:  Stresses proficiency in sports skills, teamwork, competition, and greater knowledge of the strategy and gamemanship of team sports.  May include softball, basketball, volleyball, flag football, bowling, hockey, soccer, ultimate, badminton and water polo.  This course may be repeated for credit.

    • Personal Fitness for Life:  Designed to improve your cardiovascular fitness, help keep you trim, and reduce stress from your school day.  The fitness class is a great opportuity for students to gain a fitness workout without going to the gym after school  This course may be repeated for credit.
      • Prerequisite:  General Physical Education


    • Community Recreation Physical Education:  This class is appropriate for Navigators, LIFT and Focus Students.  Also students interest in peer tutoring and working with special needs students while participating in modified physical education activities.  This opportunity is available for students who have an interest in special education, physical therapy, and physical education.  Teacher  recommendation is required.
