Mr. Ayers

Robert Ayers has worked at Heartland Elementary since 1996 in the regular classroom. He will start his second year of teaching physical education at Heartland this year. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Recreation Therapy in 1988. He competed in diving for KU in 1986.  He worked in the inpatient mental health setting designing and implementing recreation and leisure activities for pre adolescents, adolescents, and adults. He later graduated from Saint Mary's College with his K-9 Elementary certification in 1996. He has taught second, third and fourth grade at Heartland. He began coaching high school diving in 1981.  He has also coached girls club gymnastics, club volleyball, age group swimming and diving, youth basketball, and youth baseball.  He enjoys biking, running swimming, volleybal and fishing.
