Teaching children is my passion and I am thrilled to be at Mission Trail Elementary! Fifth grade is an exciting year and I am fortunate to be a part of your child's education!

For 15 years, I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 8th grades, as well as reading in both Missouri and Kansas.  I am married to my best friend, Mark and we have three children who attend the Blue Valley Schools - Jackson, Anna and Ella.  Before coming to Mission Trail, I had the privilege of staying home with our children.   

 I grew up in mid-Missouri and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from SMSU (some call it MSU...) in Springfield.  I earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Adminstration from William Woods in Fulton.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, eating out, going to the movies and going on day trips!

When I was in 5th grade.....

My teacher's name was Mrs. Cook.  She would sing her ABCs to quiet our class and was always super sweet.  There were 14 people in my entire 5th grade.

Ronald Reagan was president, Return of the Jedi and Wargames were on at the movies, the computer mouse was invented and The A-Team and Dallas were the popular TV shows.  Papa John sold his car to help start up a pizza company that year.  David Bowie's Let's Dance and Michael Jackson's Beat It hit the top of the music charts.  My goodness...that seems so long ago! :)

I am so excited to be a part of your child's elementary experience.  It's going to be an OUTSTANDING year!
