Welcome to Mrs. Welde's classroom web page!  View the class schedule, calendar and other information from the navigation left sidebar.  This year, our class is participating in the Innovation Spaces project hosted by Blue Valley School District. We will be utilizing a variety of technology tools to enrich the classroom experience. From this pilot program, we will be able to determine best practice and truly impact student learning in an engaging manner.  To view more information about the project, see the Innovation Spaces link in the left sidebar.

  • More About Me!

This is my 6th year of being a proud Oak Hill parent and my 4th year on staff. It is an honor to be a part of this creative, passionate, fun team and serve the caring Oak Hill community. Teaching is a calling I have felt since I was a child. I have a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s in elementary education with a minor in early childhood. I am also certified in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). While my husband of 17 years served in the Air Force (Arizona, England, Oklahoma, Ohio), I immersed myself in a variety of educational experiences to include teaching Pre-K, 2nd, 4th, 6th, coaching 6th-7th grade girls' volleyball and basketball, aiding in kindergarten, and subbing. With 3 children who are 31 months apart, I like to think of my time at home with them as a 24 hour early childhood development center. Although I was born in KC, I was primarily raised in Springfield, MO. After so many moves, John and I are ecstatic to have planted roots in Overland Park. I've made a very full circle! My first 2 years at OHE I taught kindergarten and am currently teaching 2nd grade.  In my free time, I adore laughing with my family, friends, and playing with our goofy dog, Risby. Other things that make me happy are volunteering, photography, sports, writing, reading, traveling (16 countries and counting), going to the lake, a cup of English tea, chocolate, jigsaw puzzles, games, and a healthy dose of TV, movies, theater, and music.
