Information about the August 4 Kansas primary election

On August 4, Kansas voters will have the opportunity to participate in the 2026 primary election. Depending on where they live, voters may cast ballots for candidates seeking public office and on ballot questions that could affect communities across the state, including public education. We encourage you to learn about the candidates and ballot issues that will appear on your ballot.

The deadline to register to vote in the August primary is July 14. To register to vote, verify your voter registration, view your sample ballot or find your polling location, visit the Johnson County Election Office website.

Important upcoming dates:

• July 14 — Last day to register to vote for the August 4 Primary
• July 15 — Advance-by-Mail ballots begin mailing for the August 4 Primary
• July 18-August 3 — In-person advanced voting
• August 4 — Primary election day
