Being a parent is the most important job there is. The free, voluntary Blue Valley Parents as Teachers program is designed to support district families with children birth to 36 months.

From the start, Blue Valley Parent Educators equip parents with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. As their child's first teachers, parents play a critical role in their development.

For parents with a concern about their child's development, hearing or vision, the district provides access to monthly screenings for all children. Registration in the Parents as Teachers program is limited.

The Peer Model Program provides an opportunity for typically- developing children to be integrated into our Early Childhood Special Education classrooms to serve as role models for our children with special needs.

Peer Model students provide positive peer interactions, demonstrate play skills and model appropriate language and behavior for children with special needs while in the classroom setting. We have a limited number of slots available for Peer Models.

Children who reside in the Blue Valley School District and turn 5 years old by Aug. 31 are eligible to attend kindergarten that school year.

The K-5 program provides developmentally appropriate experiences to support academic and social growth, including reading and language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, art, music, physical education, health and technology education.

The YMCA provides family-paid before- and after-school care at all Blue Valley elementary schools.
