Welcome to my home page. My name is Charmian Zurovsky and I am called "Mrs. Z", at school. I am beginning my 27th year in education. In additon, I taught for 16 years at Brookridge Day School and I am beginning my 11th year at Sunset Ridge Elementary School. As you can see, I love teaching kindergarten!
I have been married for 39 years and Howard and I have 3 married daughters, Jenifer, Sarah , and Megan. I am a new Grandma this past year. We also have our beloved 8 ear old golden retriever named Harley.
I graduated from the University of Missouri in 1972. Jenifer graduated from Truman State University and received her Masters from the University of Kansas in Health Science. She was married in November 2009 and is working as a Medical Coder specialist. Sarah graduated with a Masters in Business Accounting from the University of Kansas, got married in 2010 and works at UMB as a tax accountant. She gave birth to Lawrence last October. Megan graduated from Kansas State University with an elementary education degree in 2009. She is beginning her 7th year teaching 3rd grade, currently in the Shawnee Mission School District.
As you can see, we are a "house divided" between KU and K-State!
Mr. Z. is currently retired and volunteers as our resident kindergarten reading listener as our students read out loud to him.
My favorites include my family, teaching, reading, art, spectator for college football and basketball as well as an avid Chiefs supporter and shopping, just to name a few.
Now that I am teaching half day this year, I will be substitute teaching in the afternoons at SRE and also, I am a MVP(My Volunteer Pal) at my daughter, Megan's 3rd grade class at Roesland Elementary in Shawnee Mission School District.
As you can see, I am keeping very busy this year. Love, Mrs. Z
A great attitude and a smile!
A water bottle which will go home every Friday to be washed and returned to school on Monday.
