Mrs. Leaming: Inter-related Resource Teacher
Hello! My name is Kristen Leaming and I am an inter-related resource teacher and co-teacher in fifth grade! I am so excited to be working with your child and partnering with you this year! I am looking forward to a great year and watching the progress students will make towards accomplishing their goals! I am especially excited for our new co-teaching model that we are piloting this year at Morse. I am loving it already and am seeing so many great benefits for all students!
This marks the beginning of my eleventh year teaching at Morse Elementary. I student taught at Morse twelve years ago, fell in love with this incredibly special school and have stayed! I was a fourth grade teacher for five years and have been an IRR teacher for five years. I have loved every minute of my job and truly believe it is my purpose! My favorite part is building relationships with students and empowering them to feel confident and successful in whatever they do.
I love school and am committed to being a lifelong learner and student myself. I pursue further learning through webinars, trainings, and professional learning. I have a master’s degree in special education, I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy, and am currently pursuing my doctorate from KU in Educational Leadership.
Faith and family are extremely important to me. My husband and I have been married for seven years and we have a son, Brooks, who will be turning two in October. He keeps us busy and I absolutely love every new age and stage. Becoming a mother has changed me in the best ways possible! I love sharing my life with my students and to have them share their lives with me.
More than anything I want you to know that I am committed to your child’s education and I will always work to keep them first. Please don’t ever hesitate to contact me as questions or concerns arise throughout the year!
