Resident Transfers

Blue Valley Schools recognizes that the opportunity to transfer schools is a valuable resource for those who have unique personal, social or academic needs. The district is committed to preserving the opportunity for all students while maintaining the integrity of programs within our schools. Transfers must be requested for any student who wishes to attend a school other than the school to which they are assigned. Requests are considered under exceptional circumstances and for justifiable reasons.

Current School Year Transfers

Transfer requests for the current school year are only considered under extraordinary circumstances. To request a transfer, please complete the online transfer application. If you're unable to complete the online transfer application, please contact the student transfers office for assistance. Requests are considered based on the educational needs and interests of the students, as well as the educational needs and interests of the students at the sending and receiving schools.

Next Year Transfers

Transfer requests for the following school year are accepted between Jan. 15 and April 1. The Transfer Review Committee reviews all student transfer request forms. If approved, the transfer typically begins the first day of the following school year.
