Early Childhood Curriculum
We follow a developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum designed for children ages 3 to 5. The curriculum supports our commitment to treating each child as an individual and honoring all learning styles.
A thematic approach connects learning across key developmental areas, including language and literacy, early math, motor skills, classroom participation, and social skills. We use small groups, large groups, and play centers to help children learn and practice the skills and concepts they need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.
We align our practices with guidance from national organizations, including the National Association for the Education of Young Children, as well as the Kansas Early Learning Standards.
As part of Blue Valley Schools, we have a unique opportunity to collaborate with our kindergarten colleagues and ensure that our students build the foundational skills most important for future success.
