Week of September 12th...

Dear Families,

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a GREAT trip today. Thank you to the parents that came out to help us.  We had beautiful weather and the kids learned a lot. They were exhausted when we got back to school. J

  •  Tomorrow is Early Release. Students dismissed at 2pm.  Teachers will be working on analyzing MAP scores so we can individualize student learning.

  • Writing:  Our potato writing is so much fun!  We are working on paragraphs each day to put together for our first narrative assignment. This is very guided so the students get a good model of what our writing should like.  We will be peer revising and editing this week through Google Documents. Final copies will be due next week.

  • Sub:   I will be out of the building Friday.  I am starting the process of working on my National Board Certification in Literacy: English Language Arts. We have our first big meeting Friday and Saturday. More information to come as I will need some help from you all to complete this adventure!

  • Grade Updates:   I know a lot of you have been on Parent Vue checking grades. That is great way to keep up with what we have been working on.  Please know that grades are updated each week by Tuesday at 10am.   If you check on Monday they won't be updated and there might be missing assignments that aren't really missing. Same thing for a Friday.  If you ever have questions about grades please let me know.  (Now, I am a bit behind because of the 3 day weekend so grades will be updated this week Wednesday by 10am!)

  • Blogging:   They should get online Tuesday and Thursday night to complete their blog for this week. Please don't have your child read ahead!  I promise they won't get overwhelmed by the reading and it makes it hard for me to see their process if they read ahead!

  • Mrs. Duggan absent:   Jim (my husband) and I try to get away 1 time a year without Michael. This year we will be headed to Colorado!  I will be gone September 26, 27 and 28.  I will NOT have access to email most of that time. I fly home the 28th and will check my messages then!
