Dear Families,
Happy Monday! What a great, sunny day we are having. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent Saturday in class, as well as Friday, so my weekend was VERY short!
- Friday: Friday is a ½ day of school for the kids. In the afternoon teachers are in Professional Development. We will be evaluating new reading materials for our 2017-2018 school year.
- Math: We are finishing up Topic 2 this week. The test will be on Friday. Students should take a practice test for homework Thursday night. The answers will be posted on Edmodo so students can check their work. If they are struggling with homework don't forget Wednesday is TCB and a great place to get some extra help.
- BV Kid Ed Tech Challenge: We are participating in the BV Ed Tech Challenge for the next few weeks. A BINGO game board was provided and twice a week we view the "drawing" via You Tube. This shows us a new app we will work with that week. Today we used Skype! We "called" Mrs. Troutman's 5th grade class at Stanley Elementary. Each class wrote descriptive papers about a monster. We read our descriptions to see if the other class could draw our monster. It was a great language and speaking/listening activity. Tomorrow we will be making iMovies. We still have to figure out Google Earth!
- Sub: I will be gone Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Jim and I are headed to Rocky Mountain National Park for some hiking and peace and quiet. Michael is staying with my Mom so I plan on sleeping in too! The kids will be in great hands so I am not worried. Please know that I have no access to email while I am gone. I think we might even turn off our phones for a few days! J

- Grade Updates: I know a lot of you have been on Parent Vue checking grades. That is great way to keep up with what we have been working on. Please know that grades are updated each week by Tuesday at 10am. If you check on Monday they won't be updated and there might be missing assignments that aren't really missing. Same thing for a Friday. If you ever have questions about grades please let me know.
