Math: This week we will conclude Topic 3: Multiplying Whole Numbers. Quick Check corrections will be due on Thursday. Our test will be on Thursday this week.

Reading: This week we will begin our new theme, Seeking the Unknown. Students will work in small groups with me and complete reading rotations working on the following skills: Summarizing, Fact and Opinion, Antonyms, and Greek/Latin Roots. Students have one week to contribute to the Inquiry board by Monday. Our theme question is, "Why Do People Seek the Unknown?"

Writing: Students will work in writing workshop. They will finish the draft of their own Memoir, edit/revise, and type their final copy.

Social Studies: Chapter 4

Spelling: Spelling Test will be on Friday, October 7.

Homework packet will be due Friday. The Book It Calendar came home with your child on Friday. This is a required assignment. Students need to record their out of school reading minutes each day. The goal for October is 620. All students will turn in their calendars, signed by a parent, at the end of the month.

Important Reminders:
*Student council voting will take place on Monday. Results should be posted on the Oak Hill website Monday after school. Results will be shared with the student body on announcements Tuesday morning.
*Tuesday is Early Release at 2:00. At 9:00 we will have a special Break Out experience with Mrs. Martin. We will have a Peace Week Assembly at 1:10.
*We will have library check-out on Wednesday.
*The counselor will have a lesson on Thursday.
