Monday: Day 3: Music/P.E.

Thursday: Day 1: Spanish/P.E.
Friday: No School. End of 1st Quarter

Math: This week we will begin Topic 4, Dividing by 1-digit numbers. Students should work on memorization of multiplication facts at home if needed.

Reading: This week we will continue our new theme, Seeking the Unknown. Students will work in small groups with me and complete reading rotations working on the following skills: Summarizing, Fact and Opinion, and Idioms. Students will meet with their new Inquiry group and develop a question based on our theme question, "Why Do People Seek the Unknown?" Their Inquiry Board contribution is due on Wednesday, Oct. 12 of this week for 10 points.

Writing: Students will work in writing workshop. They will edit/revise, type, and publish their memoir final copy.

Social Studies: Chapter 4 test will be on Thursday this week. Students can use their review to study for the test.

Spelling: Test will be Monday, Oct. 17

Homework packet will be due Friday. The October Book It Calendar came home with your child last week. Many are storing it in their purple folder. This is a required assignment. Students need to record their out of school reading minutes each day. The goal for October is 620. All students will turn in their calendars, signed by a parent, at the end of the month.Please support your child in this long-term assignment.
