Math: This week we will begin Topic 4, Dividing by 2-digit numbers.

Reading: This week we will continue our new theme, Seeking the Unknown. Students will work in small groups with me and complete reading rotations working on the following skills: Summarizing, Fact and Opinion, and Idioms. Students will meet with their new Inquiry group and share their research on our theme question, "Why Do People Seek the Unknown?" Inquiry Research #1 is due this Tuesday, 10/25.

Writing: Students will work in writing workshop. They will use their Poet's Toolbox to create Fall/Halloween poems.

Social Studies: Chapter 5

Spelling: Test will be Tuesday, 10/25.

No Homework packet week. The October Book It Calendar came home at the beginning of October. Many are storing it in their purple folder. This is a required assignment. Students need to record their out of school reading minutes each day. The goal for October is 620. All students will turn in their calendars, signed by a parent, Next Tuesday, Nov. 1st. Please support your child in this long-term assignment.

Important Reminders:
*We will have library check-out this Wednesday.
*Conferences are Monday 10/24, Tuesday 10/25, and Thursday 10/27.
*No School Thursday 10/27 and Friday 10/28.
*Halloween Party is Monday, October 31. At 1:40 students will change into costumes. 2:00 Parade to the gym. 2:30 classroom parties begin.
*Tuesday, Nov. 1 is Early Release.
*Picture retakes are Thursday, Nov. 3.
*Geography Bee permission slips are due by Friday, Nov. 11.
