Math: This week we will continue Topic 5, Dividing by 2-digit numbers.

Reading: This week we will conclude our theme, Seeking the Unknown. Students will work in small groups with me and complete reading rotations working on the following skills: Making Predictions, identifying main ideas and details, Mood and Tone, Metaphors, Antonyms, and Idioms. Students will meet with their new Inquiry group and share their research on our theme question, "Why Do People Seek the Unknown?" Inquiry Groups will meet to revise their questions and decide the direction of their next research assignment.

Writing: Students will work in writing workshop. They will share writing during Writer's Chair. They will publish their Fall/Halloween poems.

Science: Lesson 4 How do Scientists Know when Substances Change?

Homework packet will be due Friday. The October Book It Calendar came home at the beginning of October. All students will turn in their calendars, signed by a parent, Next Tuesday, Nov. 1st. Please support your child in this long-term assignment.

*Halloween Party is Monday, October 31. At 1:40 students will change into costumes. 2:00 Parade to the gym. 2:30 classroom parties begin.
