Blue Valley Schools named top Kansas employer on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers by State

Blue Valley Schools was named to the 2020 Forbes Best-in-State Employers list, ranking in the top spot among Kansas employers. Coming in at number one, Blue Valley is the top-ranked K-12 school district in the Kansas City metro area and the top employer in the state.

“This accolade is especially meaningful knowing the ranking was based on the opinions of our current employees,” said Dr. Eric Punswick, Blue Valley’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “Our goal is to provide positive work environments for our more than 3,000 employees. They are at the heart of our mission to provide transformative learning experiences for over 22,000 students as we work together to reimagine learning so our students can change the world.”

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to select America’s Best-in-State Employers based on an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 80,000 U.S. employees. Surveys were conducted on a rolling basis from October 2019 to May 2020, and responses regarding the same employers were compared throughout the process, so as to account for any statistically significant variations in the results collected before and after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. Respondents were asked to rate their employers on a variety of criteria, as well as share how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others and to nominate organizations in industries outside their own.
