OUR MISSION:  Our Stilwell community will provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where all children will learn, grow, and discover the best in themselves and others through positive relationships.

It is an honor to be the Principal at Stilwell Elementary and to serve the Stilwell community another year! This is my seventh year working in the Blue Valley School district and my 27th year as a school leader. I graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, obtained a Master’s degree from Webster University in Multicultural education and a Master’s degree from Emporia State University in Educational Administration. 

My Belief Statement:

First and foremost, I have a passion for teaching and learning and I am a life-long learner.  As a leader, I will put student learning and safety first in all decision making.

I will create a learning environment focused on student achievement and provide teachers the resources and autonomy to build that culture in their classrooms.

I will keep professional learning community conversations focused on student achievement and best instructional practices. I will be a support to my teachers.  I will be actively engaged in the daily routines of our school.

I will be visible, someone teachers can trust, and one who creates a culture that promotes and supports the leadership within the building.  I will be a leader who encourages teachers to redefine the current paradigm, and use technology to motivate, engage and inspire students.

I will build strong and positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.  I will be driven by the team’s vision, mission, values and goals.  I will be a leader who communicates effectively by being an attentive listener and responding with integrity and in a timely manner.  I will be a positive role model for everyone at all times.
