Week of January 16th...
Dear Families,
It is already Tuesday! I hope everyone enjoyed their extra-long weekend. I think it was a really good thing because we were struggling last week and they came back READY to learn today! I also really enjoyed the extra sleep time!
· Measurement: The students began their measurement rotation today. They will be with Mr. Chace learning about volume for the next 5 days. There might be homework so the students will need to be responsible for that as I will not always know. This is GREAT practice for middle school!
· Reading: We are working through our theme of discovering the unknown. This week we are going to study Harriet Tubman in preparation for the Lyric Opera to visit the end of this month. Students will be learning about the Underground Railroad and what role Harriet Tubman played.
· Informational Writing : Our Culture Grams essays are taking us a longer time to complete and that is okay by me. Last week we really focused on getting enough research and our thesis statements. We will continue this week with writing transitions between our paragraphs.

- Grade Updates: GRADES WON'T BE UPDATED UNTIL FRIDAY THIS WEEK! I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THE ICE DAY AND DIDN'T TAKE ANYTHING HOME! I know a lot of you have been on Parent Vue checking grades. That is great way to keep up with what we have been working on. Please know that grades are updated each week by Tuesday at 10am. If you check on Monday they won't be updated and there might be missing assignments that aren't really missing. Same thing for a Friday. If you ever have questions about grades please let me know.
