Hello everyone!

My name is Brooke Ash, and I am honored and very excited to be joining the Lakewood Middle School family for the 2022-23 school year! I grew up in the Blue Valley School District and graduated from Blue Valley Northwest, before heading north to the University of Nebraska. In Nebraska, I began my educational career, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and later earning a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Pitt State University. 

I began my teaching career in Shawnee Mission, before transitioning to teach sixth grade at Overland Trail Middle School. I taught Science, English and Executive Functioning skills to my students. I have also coached softball and volleyball at Blue Valley West High School throughout the last six years. Teachers and coaches made a huge impact on my life growing up, and I am humbled to be able to make similar connections, as an adult. I love seeing many of my former students and athletes in our community and enjoy catching up and reminiscing on our time together. During the last two years, I have been an Instructional Design Coach and one of the District’s 6-12 Science Coordinators. I primarily worked at Leawood Middle School and Prairie Star Middle School.

My family and I enjoy traveling to visit friends and family in Texas and Nebraska and being outside. I have a wonderful family; my husband, Nick, and I recently celebrated 8 years of marriage. We have two children together; my daughter, Peyton (4), and my son, Barrett (1). They are my absolute joy. 

I am so excited to be a part of the Lakewood Middle School community. I look forward to getting to know each and every student and educator and continuing to make Lakewood Middle School exceptional.
