Debbie Bond

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the principal of this wonderful school community. This year will be my 36th year in Blue Valley Schools and my 16th year as principal of Mission Trail Elementary. I am proud of our school and the significant role we have in our community. This is an outstanding school because of our exceptional staff, dedicated parents and amazing students. At Mission Trail we focus on the whole child. We work together to ensure academic success and the personal growth of each student. We believe positive relationships with our students and their families build a strong foundation for learning. We have high academic and personal expectations for students and our staff. We love learning! Our staff seeks to continuously learn and improve. We intentionally model that passion for our students. We appreciate the support, commitment and involvement of our parent community. We are proud to partner with you in the education of your children and we thank you for sharing them with us! 

On a personal note, I have lived in Johnson County for most of my life. I earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Kansas. My School Leadership License is from Baker University. I love learning and may even go back to school. This year marks my 35th wedding anniversary to my wonderful husband. We have one daughter who is an engineer, married and also a fitness trainer in San Antonio, TX. In my free time, I enjoy being outside in the flower garden, reading and watching Kansas City sports!

We also have a french bulldog named Evie who now rules the roost at home.  

I look forward to another rewarding year of leading and learning with our team. I encourage you to get involved by joining our PTO and volunteering in our building. I am positive you will find it very rewarding!
