Math: This week we will continue Topic 16, Coordinate Geometry.
Reading: This week we will continue reading The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, and examine character changes. Students will work in their Inquiry group to present their Murals.
Writing: Informational Writing
Social Studies: We will continue Ch. 17 Peoples of the West
Spelling: No Test this week.
Homework packet will be due Friday.
Important Reminders:
*Library will be on Monday.
*Tuesday, May 10 is the Fifth Grade Musical. Daytime performance is at 1:10. Students need to be at school at 5:45 that evening for the performance that will start at 6:00.
*Our end of the year Fifth Grade Breakfast Celebration will be at the Ritz Charles 8:30 a.m., on the morning of May 12. Students should bring their backpacks to the breakfast. We will all ride the bus back to school at the conclusion of the banquet around 10:00 a.m.
*Field Day is Friday, May 13. (If it gets rained out, it will be 5/16)
*We will have a Book It Pizza party for lunch on Friday. We were one of the Top 100 Classrooms in the country for most minutes read (122,692 minutes)!!!!! We won a $50 Gift Card to have a pizza party to celebrate our hard work! Students should bring a drink or buy one in the lunch room. They should also bring side items to supplement their lunch. They will get 2 pieces of pizza each.
*Monday, May 16 Kids on the Block presentation at 2:00.
*Thursday, May 19 Variety Show 2:30-3:30.
*Friday, May 20 Last Day of School. 11:45 dismissal.
