Kelly Northup

Hello Cheetahs!

My name is Kelly Northup and I am deeply grateful to serve as your assistant principal at Cedar Hills Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. I’ve recently spent the past five years working as an instructional design coach for the district and I have also previously taught at the middle and elementary levels in Blue Valley and Olathe. I am a lifelong learner who has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in athletic administration from Northwest Missouri State University. I also have my master’s and doctorate degrees in educational administration from the University of Kansas.

It is my passion to help cultivate a school culture that is safe, warm, welcoming, and full of connection. I lead with my heart and feel honored to serve the CHE students, staff, and community. I am passionate about providing our students with engaging, meaningful learning experiences that challenge and inspire them to develop the critical skills necessary for their future.

My husband, Travis, and I have three children, William, Tanner, and Emery. We enjoy coaching and cheering our kids on in their various sports and activities. Outside of school, I enjoy being outdoors, camping, horseback riding, attending Sporting KC and Chiefs games, photography, and planning memorable experiences for my kids.

I am thrilled for this new opportunity and I am glad to be part of the Cedar Hills family!

Go Cheetahs,
Kelly Northup, Ed.D.
