Dear 1^st Grade Families,

        I can’t believe that the school year is already here.  I hope that your summer was as good as mine.  The highlight of my summer was spending time outdoors with my 10 year old son, Ashton.  I can’t wait to hear all about your summer fun.

        Let me tell you a little about myself.  I am originally from Ness City, Kansas; it is a small town in Western Kansas.  I have been happily married to my husband, Anthony, for 15 years and Ashton (our son), Jada and Leah (our doggies) complete our family. I graduated from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  I then moved to Salina, Kansas and taught 1^st grade at Sunset Elementary for 2 years.  We then moved to the Kansas City area where I taught 1^st grade at Stanley Elementary.  I now am very fortunate to continue teaching 1^st grade for my 10th year here at Liberty View.  In December of 2010 I graduated from Baker University with my Master’s Degree in Education. 

        I know that we will have a wonderful journey together this year.  Your child’s education is in my best interest.  I firmly believe that good communication between home and school is essential, so please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time.  Together we will watch your child grow and learn, physically, emotionally and academically.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child.  I know that we will have a successful year!
