Welcome to the 2023 - 2024 school year, Leawood Eagles!

I am incredibly honored to serve our community as principal of Leawood Middle.  I believe that together our staff, students and families will continue the great work happening within and out of our walls through our partnerships, support, and encouragement of each other.  I also believe we have a great opportunity to continue to grow together as a community as we walk the middle school journey together in preparation for high school.  The educational process at LMS is a collaborative effort among administration, staff, students, parents, and our community.  Together I know we can and will do incredible work!

I received my bachelor’s degree in education from Kansas State University and my Master's in School Leadership from Baker University.  Before joining the Blue Valley administrative team, I taught for eight years in the Bonner Springs/Edwardsville School District and then two years in Blue Valley.  When I am away from the "nest", I enjoy spending quality time with my family:  my husband, Curtis, and our three children, Hadley, Hudson, and Henry.  We love spending time outside, cheering on our local Kansas City teams and finding adventures to take together while our children are young!

Leawood Middle is one of a kind, a truly special place.  Our staff make it a priority to provide your child(ren) with an education that will meet each of their individual needs academically, socially, and emotionally.  I look forward to our work this year, creating a space where all students experience middle school days that will prepare them to become productive citizens in their communities, relationships, and contributions now and in the future.

I am thrilled to begin year 2 at "The Nest" as an Assistant Principal.  I look forward to continuing to build relationships with students and the community!!

Prior to administration, I served as a science teacher at the middle and high school level.  I spent 3 years at Oxford Middle School, and most recently, 2 years at Blue Valley Northwest High School.  I received my undergraduate degrees at Kansas State University to receive my B.S. in Biology and Secondary Education.  I most recently received my Master's in School Leadership from Baker University.  When not at LMS, my wife (Julie) and I enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family.

I find immense value in building relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.  I look forward to working with the LMS community this year, and for many years to come!
