Special education services for K-12 students of the Blue Valley School District who are struggling with social emotional regulation or behavioral regulation within the general educational environment.  Placement is decided by the IEP team.  The goal is to get the student back to a traditional school setting to learn academically and socially.  The process and length of time spent at GEAR will look different for every student. 

Academics will be a mix of online and direct instruction guided by a certified teacher, social worker, school psychologist and behavior specialists. GEAR is not a therapeutic setting and we do not have general education peers present.  Students will have the opportunity to work both one on one and in small group settings.  We use a mix of ABA and Trauma Informed Care as our behavior protocol.
